The college application essay is an important part of college admissions because it acts as an "interview," of sorts, and is required for many scholarships. As an English teacher with fifteen years of experience and a master's degree in composition, I have been facilitating college essay workshops every summer for the past ten years. In this one-day workshop, I will walk you through each step of the process: identifying this year's essay prompts, understanding the purpose and format of the college-entrance essay, brainstorming and developing a topic or topics that will impress prospective schools, and using a single topic for a variety of different prompts. During this collaborative workshop, you will complete brainstorming activities to generate ideas, organize your essay for maximum effectiveness, and then write your first draft before you leave! The price of this workshop includes all materials needed (except laptop), lunch, drinks, snacks, and one-on-one editing help following the workshop.

I give my permission to the camp staff to secure medical attention for my child in case of emergency. I will also allow any photos/videos taken of my camper to be used in future promotions for Grace Community Camps via website/social media platforms or brochures. I release all the staff /coaches/camp volunteers and Grace Community Church and School from any and all liability.
